What is it?
Two 20-minute kick boxing workouts from fitness personality Denise Austin.
Who is it for?
Intermediate to advanced exercisers who want a powerful athletic cardio workout. Keep in mind that this is a fast, paced, high-impact program — if you don't think you can handle that then this tape is not for you.
What to expect:
Who woulda thought that Ms. "You can do it! I'm so proud of you!" Denise Austin could rival Billy Blanks for creating an intense, sweat-inducing workout? With his background (after all, he invented the Tae Bo program), Blanks has an edge on Austin as far as knowing technique. But Austin has certainly thrown herself into this kickboxing workout — and she throws you into it, too. She starts off by illustrating proper form with the help of the other exercisers in the video, but after that you're on your own — she only reminds you about proper positioning every now and then. The first 20-minute segment is more basic, as far as the moves, but that does not mean it's easy. The second segment, called "Drills," is very fast-paced and it may be hard to keep up with the constantly changing routines the first couple of times you do this video. But it's worth it — few tapes give such a powerful workout. If you want to burn a lot of calories in a short amount of time, either workout on this video will do it for you. Do both of them back to back and you'll sweat buckets, tone your legs and butt, and feel great.
