Cardio Athletic Kickbox II(Behind the Scenes Fitness) 2000 What is it? A 45-minute kickboxing workout, led by Eversley Forte. Who is it for? Intermediate exercisers. Those who are in relatively good shape but new to kickboxing will also enjoy this video, since the instruction is especially good. There are low-impact modifications.
What to expect: Kickboxing is an extremely vigorous cardio workout that is often learned improperly. It's easy to leave yourself open to injury, so the theme of this video — "play hard, play safe, and have a good time doing it" — is particularly apropos. Instructor Eversley Forte may not exude as much charisma as Billy Blanks, at least at the beginning of the video, but he is very careful about explaining the proper way to punch and kick. And once the brief instructional part of the video is over and the workout begins, Forte really comes to life, offering up an intense, energetic workout while continuing to explain the ins and outs of proper kickboxing form. Forte makes the session a lot of fun, ultimately giving Blanks a run for his money. Intermediate exercisers will be happiest with this video. It's a little too lightweight for many advanced exercisers, and definitely a stretch for total beginners. So if you know your way around kickboxing, but want to learn more — and better — this video will make a good addition to your library. Other Cardio Exercise DVDs you may like: |
