Crunch: Cardio Go-Go Dance(Starz) 2007 What is it? A 42-minute low-to-medium impact cardio dance workout. The lively Gypsy Clark instructs. Who is it for? Advanced beginning exercisers. The choreography is not too hard, but it's more than your usual grapevines, hamstring curls and step-touches.
What to expect: This is one of those cardio DVDs that you'll either utterly adore or completely hate. (We fall into the former category.) Energetic and peppy instructor Gypsy Clark leads you through a series of sexy, hip-shaking, shimmying routines. She even builds one segment around that 1960s go-go step, the Pony. This is definitely a girly cardio workout, but it's not wimpy either. While most of the moves are lower impact, Clark knows how to get your heart rate up and she does throw in a variety of small hops mid-workout. There is a lot of choreography, but it's easy enough to learn the first few times you do the routines, without having to drop your heartrate or hit the "repeat" button. Those of you who like athletic, boyish routines or tough, kickboxing workouts will find this DVD a little too feminine. But if you love dancing, enjoy shaking your bod and even getting a little silly now and then, you will have loads of fun with this workout. Other Exercise DVDs you may like: |
