What is it?
A 45-minute cardio workout with a variety of dance styles. Jennifer Galardi instructs.
Who is it for?
Beginning through intermediate exercisers who love to dance, and have a flair for it. There's a lot of choreography, but it's not as tough to learn as some of Galardi's other DVDs.
What to expect:
Somehow I missed this DVD when it first came out, and when I did discover it, I wondered if its choreography was going to be as frustrating as some other Jennifer Galardi DVDs I've reviewed. To my surprise, I got the moves down well enough during the first pass-thru to break a sweat. Not to say that Galardi's choreography is easy — I don't think she would know how to build a routine that's simple to learn — but most of the moves are variations of basic steps that anyone with any cardio dance experience has seen before. The segments are salsa-based, funk-based (although they aren't really all that Latin or funky) and retro cardio. They're not terribly hip (remember, this DVD is a few years old and it's an exercise DVD after all), and they won't raise your heart rate through the roof. But it's a nice cardio dance routine for easier days, or for those who used to love dancing and are returning to exercise after a couple of years of inactivity. If you've been strutting it on the dance floor anytime in the recent past, you'll probably think these moves are cheesy. But if you're more interested in getting in some low-impact exercise than looking like the hottest thing at the coolest club in your town, you might want to give this disc a try.
