What is it?
A 35-minute Latin dance-influenced cardio workout from Crunch. Jennifer Galardi instructs.
Who is it for?
Advanced beginning exercisers. The choreography is moderate — Galardi offers up a lot of steps here, but they aren't really that difficult.
What to expect:
Jennifer Galardi has done something interesting here — she's taken relatively small moves and created a moderately intense cardio workout. It won't leave you really breathless, but you'll find yourself working out a little harder than you thought you would. She accomplished this in several different ways: the moves are really busy, they use your whole body, not just your legs, and you perform them at different levels (i.e., some you're really bending your knees to get down low while others your on your toes). Because the moves are so busy, they are a tad more difficult than your usual beginning-to-advanced beginning workout, but since they all begin with basic steps (cha-cha-chas, mambos, step-togethers) and build from there, you should still be able to get them down in maybe 3 passes. At least that was my experience, and I'm famous for taking a long time to get Galardi's choreography. What I do get from this instructor right from the start is her friendly persona and her sense of fun, which is amplified even more than usual here. If you've got two left feet, Galardi is not for you (someone like Chris Freytag is probably more your style), but if you like to add a little style to your sweat, then you'll enjoy this Latin-style routine on lighter workout days.
