| The Firm: Cardio Dance Slim Down |
The Firm: Cardio Dance Slim Down(GT Media) 2006 What is it? A 40-minute cardio dance routine from the Firm. Allie DelRio Pointer instructs. Who is it for? Advanced beginning exercisers — there's a lot of choreography, but it's not that difficult and not that intense. May be too easy for intermediate exercisers, except for "light" days. Note: a few moves may be a little difficult to do on a carpeted surface.
What to expect: Often, when I am reviewing an exercise DVD, I'll peek around to see if other people have anything to say about it. When it came to this particular workout, I was amazed at the divergence of opinion — it's apparently one of those "love it or hate it" DVDs. Your feelings about this routine will probably depend on your exposure to other Firm workouts. If you're an old time Firm enthusiast, you probably won't like it, since it's straight, low-impact cardio dance with no weights. If you've never done any of the older Firm DVDs, or if you thought they were too hard for you, then you may enjoy this workout if you enjoy learning a lot of steps. The moves are easy, a little silly and fun, so advanced beginners should be able to master the choreography after two, maybe three tries. The intensity level is where a lot of the complaints came in, mainly from exercisers who are used to working out hard. If you're searching out a lighter workout, however, this routine works just fine. So just because it's a Firm DVD, don't go in with any assumptions. This is an enjoyable workout if you take it for what it is — an advanced-beginning level cardio dance routine that doesn't make you work too hard. If this fits your comfort zone, then check it out.
