(Anchor Bay)
2008
What is it?
Five varied 1-mile walking workouts from Leslie Sansone that can be done separately, or together.
Who is it for?
Advanced beginning through intermediate exercisers. Beginning level exercisers can do just one mile, and add on as they become more fit. Intermediates may want to do all five miles at once for a full 85-minute workout.
What to expect:
Leslie Sansone has built a fitness empire on just four simple moves and this DVD shows why she's so successful. As in all her workouts, nearly anyone can do these "mile" routines, and she manages to add just enough variety to keep your muscles challenged and your mind from getting bored. These five "mile" segments can be done one per day (with the warm-up and cool down, they're each just under a half hour), or you can go the distance with all five for over an hour and 20 minutes' worth of cardio. (You can can also though some of the segments so you're only doing two or three miles for workouts that range from 45 minutes to an hour.) Sansone puts a different spin on each segment: the first one is her "classic" walking workout; segment two engages your arms while the third adds some lower body exercises and the fourth includes standing core work. The fifth mile, entitled "Speed Walk," is all fast-paced cardio for a quick, 12-minute mile. Beginners can start off with the basic routine and do more as their level of fitness increases. The this DVD, with its variety of workout choices, will grow with most beginning and advanced beginning exercisers for a good, long while.
