Quick Fix: Cardio Hip-Hop(Anchor Bay Ent.)
2004
What is it?
Three 10-minute cardio hip-hop workouts (the DVD has an extra 10-minute “bonus” segment). Juliane Arney is the instructor.
Who is it for?
Advanced beginning through intermediate exercisers. The choreography is on the challenging side, so it helps a lot if you have a flair for dance, especially funky dancing. (If you have two left feet, this may not be the workout for you.) These routines probably won’t get your heart rate up excessively if you’re a very experienced exerciser, but you might want to use a segment or two for a fun cool down.
What to expect:
Who ever said exercise has to be boring or last an hour? If you’ve got ten minutes you can get in a fun, lively exercise session with this group of cardio workouts. Don’t expect the latest hip-hop moves here — for the most part, the routines are pretty old school – but they’re certainly fun for what they are. Juliane Arney teaches the steps with peppy enthusiasm and funky style. You won’t learn the choreography the first time around, but if you’ve got some dance ability, you will get most of the moves down by the second or third pass. When you don’t get something right away, Arney always has a “lifeline” step that you can use as a base. These routines aren’t heavy cardio — you won’t be sweating buckets, even if you do all of them together — but they will energize you, give your heart rate a bump up, and put a smile on your face for the rest of the day.
