(Good Times)
2004
What is it?
A half-hour cardio workout from Leslie Sansone that adds intervals of jogging to her well-known "walking" routine.
Who is it for?
Beginning and advanced beginning exercisers. It's just a little more intense than Sansone's usual workouts, so you shouldn't be completely out of shape before trying this DVD. The moves are simple (they almost always are in Sansone's DVDs), so you'll have an easy time following along.
What to expect:
Leslie Sansone's "Walk Away the Pounds" series has been around for years, so it only makes sense for her to add some oomph to a few of her workouts. Many of her fans are ready to rev up their exercise a notch, even if they don't want the all-out intensity that other DVDs offer. This half hour workout is perfect for those of you who have done Sansone's one and two-mile walks, but don't quite feel you're ready for her longer workouts. This routine will get you there by incorporating a light form of interval training. Sansone takes you through a few minutes of her low impact "walking" moves and then speeds up the pace for two minutes' worth of jogging and skipping. (You can always choose the lower impact option — the moves are still faster than usual so you'll continue to get your heart rate up.) There are a total of four jogging intervals, and at the end, Sansone reveals that you've covered about 2-1/2 miles in the half hour. The time flies by with this workout and it's fun. If you're a beginning exerciser who wants to try something a little more challenging - but you want to ease yourself gently into more intense workouts — this DVD is definitely worth your while.
