What is it?
Three different workouts at three different levels (beginning to advanced beginning), performed to a background of gospel music. Donna Richardson-Joyner instructs.
Who is it for?
Anyone who wants to get up and move. The first workout is very light cardio and the third workout combines cardio and toning. You can start off easy and tackle the more advanced workouts as you grow stronger. You’ll need a five-foot exercise band for the third workout.

What to expect:
Sweating in the Spirit 2 ramps up the gospel workout concept of Sweating in the Spirit 1 by several levels, while still offering workouts that are accessible for just about anyone who has a desire to start getting fit. The set is bigger, brighter and bolder, and you enjoy live performances by gospel artists Byron Cage, Martha Munizzi and RiZen. This “Spirit” workout is actually 3 routines on one DVD. The first is an easy, 10-minute line dance that’s appropriate for nearly anyone. If you can do that and want more, there’s a 20-minute “walking” style cardio segment that’ll help get your heart rate up. Still want more? Then you can graduate to the 30-minute workout that alternates sweat-inducing cardio with short toning bursts that use an exercise band. Donna Richardson-Joyner leads you with her famous enthusiasm, great cuing and life-enhancing spirit. Church-going folks will enjoy this the most, but even if you’re a beginning exerciser who likes to sleep in on Sundays, give it a try. With three different levels of workout, you’ll ease into shape without feeling like you’re overdoing it.
