What is it?
A graceful, 50-minute workout, half standing and half matwork, based on elements of Yoga, dance, Tai Chi and Pilates, plus a bonus 6-minute chair Yoga routine. Carol Argo is the instructor.
Who is it for?
Although this workout is geared towards baby boomers, it's nice for anyone who wants a lighter exercise day that really gives some benefits. It's definitely a welcome break between hard weight training or cardio days. You will need a mat and a towel, plus a chair for the chair Yoga.
What to expect:
Who ever said that you have to work hard, sweat up a storm and be really, really sore the next day to guarantee an effective workout? Carol Argo offers up a routine that's gentle without being wimpy, and that makes you feel great. You start off with some Yoga-influenced stretches on your mat, and then enjoy a light, 20-minute dance routine that enhances balance, posture and grace. You'll find elements of Tai Chi and Yoga here, too. Then you go to the mat again for yoga and Pilates-based moves that deepen your flexibility and strengthen your core. The 6-minute chair Yoga is a great anytime stretch for those who spend a lot of time at their desks. Argo's approach to anti-aging exercise increases your mobility in ways that will keep you feeling youthful, no matter your age. Some gentle exercise routines leave you feeling like you've barely done a thing, but when you're done with this one you feel refreshed and ready to face the world.
