What is it?
Five 10-minute Core Fusion workouts, each one focusing on either the thighs or glutes. Do one, a couple, or all five. You instructors are Fred DeVito and Elisabeth Halfpapp.
Who is it for?
Intermediate through advanced exercisers — these moves are small but they burn! You will need a minimum of equipment — just a mat and a sturdy chair. You don’t even need the chair if you have a counter handy.

What to expect:
If you’re a fan of Pilates, the Lotte Berk Method, the Bar Method — or even old school Callanetics — then you will want to give the Core Fusion series of DVDs a try. The moves are small, precise and build strong, lean muscles. Oh yeah, and these workouts are not easy. They take precision because they’re made up of small moves, endurance because you’re standing, kneeling or sitting (if you can call “pretzel” sitting) in awkward positions for many long, often uncomfortable minutes, plus you’ll need flexibility on top of it all. Because of this, you need to be an intermediate or advanced exerciser before doing Core Fusion routines, but once you get going, you will gain a boatload of benefits.
This thighs and glutes workout DVD contains five 10-minute workouts and only those who are already proficient at this type of workout (either by doing other Core Fusion workouts, or Lotte Berk or the Bar Method) will make it through all five your first time out. The rest of you will have to sip it, 10-minute segment by 10-minute segment, until you build up to doing the whole thing. And along the way, you’ll find your thighs leaning out, your butt getting tighter and higher and your lower body muscles becoming stronger without added bulk. Each segment focuses on either your thighs or your glutes, takes one basic move and approaches it from multiple angles until the muscles worked are quivering in way that can’t be done with your everyday squat or lunge. Honestly? Core Fusion isn’t for everybody, but if you have experience in dance and/ or Pilates, you will appreciate this grace-under-pressure approach.
