Michelle LeMay Spirit Flow Rejuvenating Core StretchMichelle LeMay's Spirit Flow: Rejuvenating Core Stretch
(Razor Digital)
2005
What is it?
A half-hour Yoga and dance-based stretch session led by Michelle LeMay.
Who is it for?
All levels of exercisers — basically anyone who wants a soothing and relaxing stretch. You should have a mat, although the range of motion in this routine will take you off it at times.
What to expect:
While you need some cardio exercise and resistance training on a regular basis, it's also important to take the time to slow down a little and get in touch with your body. This workout from veteran exercise instructor Michelle LeMay releases stress and keeps your joints lubricated and flowing while enhancing your flexibility. It's a very low-key routine, and LeMay urges you to stay within a range of motion that's comfortable for you (in other words, don't try to force your body to imitate her — she is quite flexible). Many of the moves are Yoga-based, but much gentler, and you are kept moving throughout the whole routine, although in a very relaxed manner. The physical benefits you'll get from this session are subtle; more obvious will be your mental and emotional state — you'll feel calmer, less stressed and energized in a relaxed sort of way. All workouts don't have to pump you up; some should cool you down, and that's what this one does.
