(Questar)
2004
What is it?
Three 20-minute mind-body dance worktouts, with a focus on lower body toning. Sarina Condello instructs.
Who is it for?
Beginning exercisers. The moves are simple, and Condello's approach leaves a lot of room for adding your own style (i.e., it's okay to miss a step). The routines are done barefooted, so you won't even need shoes.
What to expect:
The "Earth" installment of Sarina's mind-body dance DVDs offers both grounding and grace. Each 20-minute segment starts off with a lengthy warm-up that includes some lower body toning in the form of various styles of squats, Yoga-based poses and lateral moves. The actual dances are actually quite brief, but raise your heart rate moderately. A quick cool down and stretch finishes each workout. Condello's approach is playful, a little new-agey, and engages your whole body in fluid moves. You can easily slip in one of these workouts anytime you have 20 minutes to spare and want a light, lively workout that will leave you feeling refreshed. This DVD is nice for beginning exercisers. The more advanced among you may find the routines more appropriate for lighter days or days where you're pressed for time but want to feel like you still accomplished something.
