Yoga Fusion: Strength & Sculpt(Artisan) 2001 What is it? A 45-minute workout that is part vinyasa-style workout and part toning and weights (you will need 3 to 5 pound weights, and a medicine ball is optional). Who is it for? Those who are familiar with Yoga and Pilates, and who want to add just a little toning to their routine.
What to expect: Unlike the Yoga Fusion: Power video, this tape offers some good instruction, thanks to Kim Haegele, who is a renowned Yoga teacher. Haegele leads you through some Sun Salutations, which make up a majority of the 20-minute "Yoga Fusion" section and the vinyasas offer some nice overall body conditioning. The 15-minute toning segment goes by a little too quickly to be very effective — your arms get almost as good a workout doing the Chaturangas from the first segment as they do from the quick weight routines shown here. But Haegele uses both Yoga and Pilates moves for a very effective core workout — your abs will definitely feel a burn. Haegele rushes through the ending relaxation almost as if it were an afterthought (this seems to be a flaw of the Yoga Fusion series in general), but this is an otherwise good tape — challenging for advanced beginning through intermediate exercisers.
