MTV Pilates(MTV/Paramount) 2004 What is it? A 35-minute Pilates routine led by Kristin McGee. Who is it for? Advanced beginning to intermediate Pilates enthusiasts. Some of the exercises may be too difficult for those just starting out.
What to expect: In a little over half an hour, Kristin McGee offers up a Pilates workout that is both challenging and a bit different from the norm. Most of the familiar moves are here — the Hundred, the abs series, the leg series, etc. — but there are also other moves to hit harder to reach areas such as the inner thighs and that little pouch at the outer edge of the glutes. Some of the traditional Pilates moves have also been modified — in the one-legged Teaser for example, you travel up and down the extended leg with your hands. All this makes for a routine that will let you know you've worked out once you're finished. Modified versions of most of the poses — beginning, intermediate and advanced versions — are shown, and the Arizona mountains in the background offer breathtaking eye candy. This program is best for those who are familiar with Pilates — you are already expected to know what a "Pilates V" is, and while you are prepped, there is not much else by way of introduction. If Pilates is already a regular part of your exercise regime, you'll appreciate this out-of-the-ordinary workout. Other Pilates DVDs you may like:
