Abs Diet Workout 2(Rodale/Razor & Tie)
2006
What is it?
Mix-and-match workouts that raise your metabolism, burn calories and tone your muscles — all of which will help to give you great abs. Terry Simpson instructs.
Who is it for?
Advanced beginning through intermediate exercisers. Even the basic level is a little too intense for those who are new to exercise. You will need one or two sets of dumbbells appropriate for your level of fitness,
an exercise mat and a stability ball
for some of the intermediate-level exercises.
What to expect:
By now, you should realize that getting your abs in shape means more than just doing a bunch of crunches. Practice a combination of cardio, strength training and diet and your abs will fall right in line. Ab exercises without all of the above won’t get much in the way of results. This second Abs Diet DVD (based on David Zinczenko’s popular book)
covers all the bases in a mix-and-match format. You get a 25-minute, interval training cardio routine (alternating moderately-paced moves with spurts of more intense exercise burns more calories), a 25-minute circuit-style weight workout with beginning and intermediate modifications for each exercise, and 2 different abdominal workouts — a 10-minute beginner/ intermediate segment and a truly-tough 12-minute advanced segment. You also get a 3-minute warm up, which should always start off your workout, no matter which routine(s) you choose to do. Included on the DVD are an “Abs Diet” eating plan and a Spanish language option. This is a very athletic style DVD — no fancy, choreographed moves, and solid, time-tested dumbbell exercises. If you’re looking for a workout with simple moves, yet really challenges you physically — and you want to earn great abs from your efforts, along with a toned, lean body — then you’ll want to latch onto this DVD.
