What is it?
Seven 10-minute abdominal workouts, using traditional exercises, Pilates, Yoga and a fitness ball. Denise Austin instructs.
Who is it for?
Beginning through intermediate exercisers — this is pretty much for anyone short of advanced level. You will need a mat, and for one routine, a fitness ball.
What to expect:
A note here: If you are a Denise Austin fan and buy all her DVDs, then you probably have all these workouts, since they are culled from her previous releases. But I'm willing to bet that you (like me) don't have most of them, in which case it's really nice to have seven short ab workouts to choose from on one DVD. Each routine is around 10 minutes long and they range in focus from traditional workouts ("Personal Training System," "Power Zone," "Get Fit Fast") to Pilates ("Hit the Spot Pilates: Abs and Waistline" and "Power Abs") to Yoga ("Yoga Body Burn"), and there's even a fitness ball workout that focuses on both your core and lower body ("Hit the Spot Core Complete"). No matter which one you pick, you'll get a good, quick workout — only the Yoga routine is a little lightweight. And if you're not a fan of Denise's overabundance of cheer, well, you're only spending 10 minutes with her and you do get in some effective ab exercises. This is a nice DVD to have on hand when you want to tack on some ab work after doing some cardio, or if you have a few minutes to fit in some exercise. You no longer have any excuse to skip working out your abs!
