What is it?
Two 20-minute workouts — one cardio and one for sculpting — plus warm-up and cool down. Denise Austin instructs.
Who is it for?a pair of 3 to 5 pound dumbbells for the sculpting routine.
What to expect:
Whether you love bubbly, blonde Denise Austin, or you find her perky attitude a bit over-the-top, she offers up some good exercise routines. Out of the two that make up Burn Fat Fast, the sculpting workout is the best. Austin uses a variety of compound exercises to make the most out of a fast 20 minutes. For example, you work your chest while performing lunges and work your shoulders, legs and challenge your balance with a combo side lunge, leg lift and arm raise. It's a full body series that takes you to the floor for the last 5 minutes to give your abs extra added attention. The cardio routine is a lot of fun and will help you get your heart rate up, providing you let go of your inhibitions and follow along with Austin and the other dancers as they shake their hips. The steps are simple to learn — more straightforward cardio than dancey for the most part. You end with a 5-minute cool down and stretch. The DVD offers you a variety of ways to set up your workout: you can program just the cardio, or just the sculpting, or you can do both cardio and sculpting (the warm-up and cool down are included in each choice). These two routines are best for days when you don't quite want to go all-out, but you still want a satisfying workout.
