on the ball abs workout leisa hartOn the Ball Abs Workout for Beginners
(Natural Journeys)
2003
What is it?
Two 15-minute stability ball workouts that focus on the abdominal muscles. Leisa Hart instructs.
Who is it for?
Beginning exercisers. You will need a stability ball and preferably, a mat.
What to expect:
These two ab workouts are very different from anything you'd expect, even if you are accustomed to performing crunches and other traditional abdominal exercises on the stability ball. In the first segment, Leisa Hart leads you through some very unique, core-focused moves, done very slowly. The second workout uses variations on the reverse crunch, which are always great ab toners. The whole point of these exercises is form, awareness and focus. If you think they are too easy, chances are you are not doing them correctly, and they will become a bit more challenging with practice. These two abdominal workouts are good for beginning exercisers — anyone more advanced will probably not find them challenging enough. But if a beginner can learn to do these workouts properly, she will have a good foundation for other core-based exercise.
