What is it?
Two half-hour dance-influenced sculpting workouts, one for your abs and the other for your legs. Veteran instructor and DVD choreographer Lisa Wheeler instructs.
Who is it for?
Beginning through intermediate exercisers — the newbies will be sore and the more experienced will consider it a light day. You will need a mat, since both workouts include floor exercises.

What to expect:
Don’t let the “Dancefit” title fool you — this is one DVD in the series that doesn’t involve any dancing whatsoever. But don’t think of skipping it — if you make good use of these two workouts, they will improve your experience with cardio dance. The stronger your abs and lower body are, the more power you can put behind your dance moves. You’ll also have more endurance because your muscles are stronger. I learned this first hand several years ago when I got my cardio level up but my strength was lacking. One time I was on an extended walk (nothing even that intense) and towards the end I had to tackle a rather steep hill. My heart felt fine; cardiovascular-wise I could have gone on forever, but my legs were shaking and totally pooped out. I could barely make it back home. So it was back to lunges and squats for me. Have you ever really examined the legs of a professional dancer? They are pure muscle. These workouts will go a long way to both sculpt and build strength in your abs and legs, and it’s no wonder, with Wheeler leading the way. Not every instructor you see on a TV screen designs their own workouts; look at the credits of the better exercise DVDs out there and you’ll often find Wheeler’s name listed as choreographer. Here, she’s borrowed a little from dance and a little from Pilates to add grace and style to traditional exercise moves. The workouts she’s created are simple enough for beginners to tackle, but interesting and challenging enough to engage more experienced exercisers. So remember, you body does not live on cardio alone; this DVD is a nice way to get your sculpting in.
