(Koch Vision)
2004
What is it?
A 40-minute workout that targets the legs and especially the butt.
Who is it for?
Intermediate to advanced exercisers — this is a demanding workout! You will need a pair of dumbbells and a mat.
What to expect:
If you want a killer butt, this killer workout will give it to you! In the introduction, instructor Dolores Munoz admits right off that she's somewhere in her 40s, but age certainly hasn't slowed down her exercise routine — she offers one of the toughest workouts on DVD. The exercises are all very straightforward — you won't be dancing around or practicing pseudo-Yoga poses. It's a very traditional workout because, after all, traditional does work. The standing sequence, which consists of variations on squats and lunges, is done twice; resistance in the form of dumbbells or a body bar is added for the second set. Munoz works your legs to the point of fatigue (maybe past it), so you'll be relieved to hit the mat for floor work — except the floor work turns out to be nearly as challenging! Chances are the first few times you attempt this workout (if you manage to make it all the way through the first time), you will really feel it the next day. But if you hang in there and use this workout on a regular basis, it will give you the toned legs and behind you want (and you will have earned them). Killer Butt is not a workout for beginners. You should be an experienced exerciser before trying this one out. Beginning exercisers should strengthen their legs with easier workouts before attempting it. And it's not an every day workout either — it should only be done once or twice a week, preferably alternated with other types of lower body workouts to give those muscles a bit of variety. But those who really want results — and who are willing to work for them — will embrace this workout with enthusiasm.
