Perfect Abs(Perfect Fit Media) 2005 What is it? Six abdominal routines, each around 8–9 minutes. Three are basic, three are more challenging versions. Meghan White instructs. Who is it for? Beginners and up, but be forewarned — even the basic versions of these workouts are not easy! You should be familiar with good crunch form, because the instruction is not detailed. You'll need an exercise mat, especially if you're working out on a hard surface, and one exercise requires the use of a light dumbbell (although you could probably use a can of soup or a filled water bottle in a pinch).
What to expect: All crunches, all the time - that's what you'll find on these 6 workouts. Not that that's a bad thing — crunches work. And Meghan White has you doing just about every variation on the basic crunch imaginable. Reverse crunches. Crunches with legs in the air. Crunches to work the obliques. Crunches with jabs and kicks. Bicycle crunches. Reverse and upper body crunches at the same time. She also throws in a few isometric holds. There are three different themes, each with a basic and more challenging version — Bootcamp Abs, Knock-Out Abs (this is where you'll find the crunches with jabs and kicks), and Strong Abs (in the more advanced version, you'll use a light dumbbell for the beginning exercises). Even though none of these routines is more than 9 minutes, you will feel it and you will fatigue your abs. These are no-nonsense workouts — you get right into the exercises and you don't stop until the end. Meghan White coaches you through each session, but her instruction about form is minimal, so you'd already better know about pulling your belly button to your spine and not pulling on your neck when you're crunching. If you want time effective abdominal routines without a lot of fluff — and if you like crunches — you'll want this DVD in your workout library. Other Exercise DVDs you may like: |
