(Natural Journeys)
2005
What is it?
Thirty-two minutes of bun toning, broken up into 5 different segments. Also included is a 5-minute "Groove & Tone" (light cardio) segment and a 4-minute stretch. Leisa Hart instructs.
Who is it for?
Beginners and up — modifications are shown for more advanced exercisers. You will need a stool or armless chair, a mat and a scarf for the bonus stretch segment.
What to expect:
Leisa Hart was a Buns of Steel star, so she knows something about shaping up your rear end. In this workout (part of a series of "Sexy" exercise DVD releases), Hart has put together 5 short segments (the longest is 10 minutes) that add grace and style to your typical squats, lunges and pelvic tucks. These routines are flowing and lightly choreographed, so you'll probably need to practice them a couple of times before you feel totally comfortable doing them. But practice equals payoff, as the moves are effective in tightening your gluteus muscles. These exercises require a stool or chair to give you a point of reference when squatting and lunging; one segment is done draped over the stool for a variety of leg lifts. For the "Bun Shape" routine you'll need a mat if you're working out on a hard surface. All the segments, plus the two bonus routines equal 41 minutes' worth of working out, or you can just do one or two if you're short on time. Sexy Buns, with its colorful set and little flower-power mats, is a pleasant way to exercise your rear, but it's definitely not wimpy. In fact, don't be surprised if you're a little sore the next day!
