Tamilee Webb — Tight on Time: Body Blast(Razor Digital)
2006
What is it?
Three 10-minute workouts, each with a different focus — lower body, cardio and core — plus a bonus, 10-minute stability ball segment. Tamilee Webb instructs.
Who is it for?
Advanced beginning through intermediate exercisers — these segments are short, but that does not necessarily mean they are easy! You will need a mat, a pair of light weights (2 to 5 lbs.),
a step
for the cardio segment (can be a smaller one, like those in some of the Firm workouts), and for the bonus segment, a stability ball.
What to expect:
Just because you are only working out for 10 minutes, don’t think you’re getting off easy! Especially when longtime fitness pro Tamilee Webb is the instructor — she wrings every last rep out of these quickie routines. The lower body workout consists of mat exercises, oldies but goodies — leg lifts, butt blasters, etc. — but Webb has given them a little extra oomph and kicked up the intensity a notch. The word “oomph” doesn’t do justice to the cardio segment, which uses the step and the weights — this is a real, sweat-inducing 10-minutes that also lightly tones both your upper and lower body (I dare you to repeat this one a couple more times, if you can spare a half an hour). The core segment also includes new twists on some classic Pilates and abdominal exercises. Plus, there’s the ball routine, in which Webb has picked out a handful of the most effective stability ball moves to give you a solid 10 minutes of toning. Included are a warm-up and stretch that you can (and should) add to whichever routine(s) you choose to do. Another nice touch is the countdown in the lower right hand corner, so you know just how many minutes you have left for each routine (there are times when you will be glad to know you are almost done!). Whether you’ve only got a few minutes, or you have a whole 50 minutes to do all the routines on this DVD (including warm up and ending stretch), you’ll get a great, highly effective workout.
