What is it?
Three 15-minute workouts, two of them targeted, one each for thighs and abs, and one cardio routine. You can mix and match — do one, two or all three. Tamilee Webb instructs.
Who is it for?
Intermediate exercisers, or ambitious advanced beginners. You will need a mat and for two of the segments, very light (one pound) weights (optional). Webb uses a pair of special weighted balls, but you can use hand weights, or even better, weighted gloves.
What to expect:
Call me a fitness toy junky, but I refused to do this DVD until I could find a pair of those weighted balls like the ones Webb uses in these workouts. It took a several trips to different stores, but I finally tracked them down (I should have just ordered them online). So I was all geared up to use my new toys... and I didn't like them! Even though I have medium-sized hands (not tiny by any means!), I found them hard to grasp, especially during Webb's cardio segment and in the end, felt I would have been better off just using one pound hand weights, or better yet, weighted gloves. So the balls were a bit of a bust, but I did like these workouts! The thigh and ab segments are quick, effective toners for advanced beginning and intermediate exercisers. Webb has a knack for taking basic squats, lunges and crunches and tweaking them to give them a little extra oomph. The routines may only be 15 minutes long, but you feel like you accomplished something when you're done. The cardio segment was good, especially when done with the other two, but if you already have some cardio conditioning, it's probably not enough on its own... which is fine, 'cause you can always do it twice in a row! Keep in mind that you should always do the warm-up and cool down, so expect to go a few minutes over, even if you're doing just one segment. Bottom line: this is a pro DVD from a veteran instructor.
