(Razor Digital)
2006
What is it?
Three 10-minute, mix-and-match strength training segments, each one with a different focus — abs, full body and upper body — plus a 10-minute, full body bonus session that uses exercise tubing. Also included are a 4-minute warm-up and 6-minute stretch to give your exercise sessions a proper beginning and end. Tamilee Webb instructs.
Who is it for?
Advanced beginning through intermediate exercisers. You should be comfortable with dumbbells, because some of these exercises are fast-paced. You will need an exercise mat and light weights (2 to 5 pounds) — because of the compound nature of these exercises and the quick pace at which they are performed, you may want to use a slightly lighter weight than normal. For the bonus section, you'll need exercise tubing (choose one of the lighter resistance levels, as you'll be using it in a wide variety of exercises).
What to expect:
Tamilee Webb was the original "Buns of Steel" exercise video star, so she's been around for a long time. That means she knows her stuff, and she has put together a series of quick but effective workouts. Each 10-minute segment is full of powerful exercises. "Super Abs" uses light dumbbells to make the moves more challenging. "Total Body Rocks" contains compound exercises to work your whole body in the shortest amount of time possible. "Arms and Shoulders" also uses compound exercises to tone the muscles of your upper body. There is also a 10-minute "bonus" segment that uses an exercise tube in a selection of creative and effective exercises. Each segment has a count-down clock so you can see how many minutes you have left. Included are a warm-up and ending stretch that should be included with each exercise session for maximum effectiveness and safety (if you generate some heat before you work out and stretch afterwards, your muscles will thank you by being more supple and not as sore the next day!). So in reality, you should put aside about 20 minutes for each routine, if you are doing just one 10-minute session. Even so, 20 minutes is not all that long to get a great workout, and that's what Webb gives you in this disc.
