TLT finding your coreTLT: Finding Your Core
(Braun Media)
2006
What is it?
A 50-minute full-body toning routine that uses core-based moves and a stability ball. Susan Harris (of the old Firm videos) instructs.
Who is it for?
Intermediate exercisers and up — some stability ball routines are rather soft, but not this one! You will need two pairs of light to medium weights (3–10 pounds), a stability ball, and a mat if you are working out on a hard surface.
What to expect:
This is a creative ball routine that uses unique moves to work multiple muscle groups. You'll find yourself building lower body strength while you're toning your triceps, improve functional fitness while working your shoulders and strengthing your core during almost every move. Susan Harris is an old pro — longtime exercisers might remember her from the original Firm videos — so the power behind this routine is no surprise. The focus here is on tone and functionality, not on building big muscles, and the moves are fast-paced, so you will want to use lighter weights than you would for other routines. Harris never gives you a break — you flow from one move to the next. You'll be doing standing moves with the ball that challenge your balance, floor moves that will work your hamstrings and glutes to failure and core exercises that you haven't seen in any other DVDs. This is a good workout for experienced exercisers — if you think you've done it all, guess again.
