What to expect:
This DVD claims to create workouts that are tailored to your body type, whether you've got a curvy, narrow or athletic physique. The workouts themselves are actually the same for everyone — there's an upper body day, a lower body day, abs workout, cardio and quick, "amp it up" segments — a few minutes of either kickboxing, super slow toning or power yoga. It's actually the weekly schedule of routines that are geared for each body type. The curvy amongst you get the most cardio days, while those who are skinny get the most toning segments, with athletic types falling somewhere in between. You don't have to live by the schedule, however — you can program your own exercise routines if you like, and that's what makes this DVD a nice, versatile addition to your workout library. The toning segments are under 15 minutes each, but they make very effective use of the time, so in about 25 minutes (counting warm-up and cool down), you get the kind of good, short workout that you will feel the next day. The cardio segment is 22 minutes of uncomplicated, athletic moves and instructor Jessica Smith gives you a variety of intensities to burn lots of calories and keep your heart rate up. Add the 5 to 7 minute quick blasts to any workout to give it an extra kick. Whether you stick to the routine for your body type, or switch things up on your own, you'll appreciate these simple, but powerful routines.
