Women's Health: The Wedding Workout(Rodale) 2006 What is it? A programmable exercise DVD that's supposed to get you in shape for that Big Day. In reality, it'll get you in shape, no matter what day you use as a goal. Marie Forleo is the instructor. Who is it for?
What to expect: Whether you're trying to get in shape for your wedding day, or you're trying to get back into the shape you were in when you got married, this DVD has a variety of workouts to help. Included in the segments, which run around 11–12 minutes apiece, are a simple (but sweat-inducing) cardio workout and routines for your upper body, lower body and abs, plus the requisite (and necessary) warm-up and cool down. Even though the segments are brief, instructor Marie Forleo has packed a lot of punch into them. She keeps you moving and the exercises engage multiple muscle groups to make the most of your time. If you want to stick to the pre-programmed workouts, there are two different week-long sets of exercise routines — one if you want to emphasize your upper body (the "Strapless Dress" program), and another for your lower body (referred to as the "Hip Hugger Dress" program). There are also fun, but rather retro segments on honeymoon strip teasing, and how to strut down the aisle in high heels. If you're not getting married (or if you're not planning one of those old-fashioned weddings), you can skip the latter two segments and program your own workouts, depending on your needs. The "wedding" angle for this DVD is a nice idea, but these workouts still work even if marriage isn't in your stars. After all, if you're happily single, you still want to look and feel great, right? This DVD will help you get there. Other Exercise DVDs you may like: |
