The Firm: TransFIRMer
(Good Times)
2005
What is it?
The latest workout series from The Firm. Includes 4 workouts: the 30-minute "Supercharged Sculpting," 55-minute "Aerobic Body Shaping," 45-minute "Ultimate Calorie Blaster," and the 25-minute "Jiggle Free Abs," plus the TransFIRMer, a 2-piece, interlinkable step system that can be arranged 5 different ways for aerobic and sculpting moves.
Who is it for?
Advanced beginning through intermediate exercisers. These workouts are probably too intense for those who are new to exercise. In addition to the workouts and TransFIRMer (all included in the system), you will need two to three sets of dumbbells.
What to expect:
The Firm is already famous for both its ever-present infomercials and its highly effective body sculpting workouts. What makes this system so great is that it continues to evolve. Each new set of workouts does something a little different and a little better than the one before it. The TransFIRMer series is the Firm's most versatile exercise system so far, due to its pair of lightweight, interlinkable steps. The 6" step is the lower-impact option, and the 8" step is for higher intensity. Stack them one on top of the other for intense lower body sculpting (think the Fanny Lifter with more range of movement). The steps can also be hooked together to form a ramp for more sculpting and aerobic dance options. The workouts alternate brief cardio routines with sets of weight exercises - keep in mind that you'll be moving the TransFIRMer steps around quite a bit during the course of each DVD! You'll get loads of variety and hit every muscle group.
These workouts are best for exercisers with some experience. "Jiggle Free Abs" is the easiest of the bunch; the others are considerably tougher and some of the choreography can get complicated. Beginners can start off with no weights, but to get the best results you'll want to graduate to dumbbells as soon as possible. The reason The Firm's workouts work is because they burn fat with the aerobic moves and sculpt with the weights. You are working without pause, so time spent with The Firm is quality time. Plus the routines are fun and feminine without being girly. Think feminine in an empowering way - you'll get leaner and stronger, and feel great about yourself. The Firm's TransFIRMer series is very highly recommended!

I'm one of those people who get sucked in by the gimmicks and have a whole room filled with things that didn't deliver.(My husband calls it the room of shame.) The Firm's Transfirmer series has been by far the best program I have ever bought. I bought it well over a year ago and I still use it and love it. It has done wonders for me. I would love to see more dvd's made for this series.

The Transfirmer was one of the first step systems I bought and I really like it. I consider myself an intermediate exerciser. I like it b/c I still have things to work up to. One of the instructors always does the modified version. I'm glad I bought it and I hope they make other workouts using the equipment.
