What is it?
Three simple, 25-minute Yoga routines.
Who is it for?
Anyone with 25 minutes to spare. These routines are suitable for nearly any fitness and experience level.
What to expect:
There's nothing strenuous or taxing about the three sessions on this video — Ananda Yoga specializes in an easy practice that is accessible to everyone. If you're looking for heat building vinyasas such as Sun Salutations, or a challenging workout, you won't find them here. Instead, this tape focuses on blending simple moves with affirmations. The first segment, Vitality, offers moves to build energy (although they are not in and of themselves energetic). The second routine, Calmness, alleviates stress. There are also some balance moves to get you centered. The final segment, Inner Harmony, uses gentle backbends to open the heart and create a feeling of peace. At about 25 minutes each, these routines may be one-half to one-third the length of a regular Yoga practice, but they're still not all that quick — in other words, you'll probably still have to schedule them in instead of just tossing the tape in the VCR at a moment's notice. The affirmations will appeal to those with that type of spiritual bent; the more fitness oriented Yoga practitioner, however, will probably find them a bit corny. But even taking these potential drawbacks into consideration, you will still feel great after any of these three routines. They're simple but they are very effective.
