(Good Times Entertainment)
2004
What is it?
A 40-minute Yoga DVD from Leslie Sansone. The first 15 minutes outlines the poses, and then there's a 25-minute gentle Yoga workout.
Who is it for?
Anyone who is new to Yoga, including and especially those who have never done Yoga before. Those who are older or have been out of shape for a long time will really appreciate Sansone's gentle approach.
What to expect:
Leslie Sansone's friendly and encouraging demeanor nicely compliments her beginner's workout routines. Now she takes the same approach to Yoga for a gentle stretching workout that goes nicely with other DVDs of hers, such as the Walk Away the Pounds series. In this routine, she guides even the most inexperienced beginner through poses such as Mountain, Triangle, Cobra, Downward Facing Dog, lunges and more, and shows how to use a chair and a pair of blocksicon to help with the poses. Even those who think Yoga is a little "strange" will be comfortable with this workout. Just a couple of notes: while she doesn't mention it, Yoga is best done on a sticky mat. And although Sansone is very good at offering modifications, she seems to have forgotten that some flexibility-challenged people may have trouble sitting on the floor with their backs straight. This is easily rectified however, by folding up a towel or blanket and putting it under the sit bones — the extra couple inches of height will make sitting much easier.
