quick fix core yogaQuick Fix — Core Yoga Workout
(Current/Peter Pan)
2001
What is it?
Three 10-minute Yoga sessions on one tape.
Who is it for?
Beginners and advanced beginners who are extremely time-challenged.
What to expect:
There's something that doesn't seem quite right about chopping up Yoga into 10-minute bytes. But if any video can do it and make those minutes into quality time, it's this one. It's geared toward those who have a basic familiarity with Yoga poses (these routines are way too short to be truly instructional), but who aren't working on an advanced level (the program is too elementary for them). The three routines have three different focuses — the first one is based around Sun Salutations; the second zeroes in on strength building poses, both standing and floor; and the third emphasizes flexibility with all floor poses. In the corner is a timer so you can see how many minutes are left in each routine. Those who take Yoga fairly seriously may find this annoying while those who view it mainly as a workout will probably appreciate knowing how much time has gone by. The instruction is good, and you are given a brief primer on breathing at the beginning of the tape. Yoga enthusiasts may note the absence of relaxation pose at the end of these routines, but then, if someone only has a few minutes for Yoga, they probably wouldn't be able to unwind in a minute or two anyhow. Unfortunately, the people who would be interested this tape are those who need relaxation pose the worst! If this is you, then certainly, go ahead and get the video, but try to find some time to really relax, too!
