(Current/PPI)
2003
What is it?
Three 10-minute Power Yoga workouts.
Who is it for?
Those who are already proficient at Power Yoga, but who are very strapped for time (if you're not so strapped you can do all three workouts back to back).
What to expect:
If you're a Yoga purist, you may be a bit taken aback by the little clock in the right hand corner of the screen that counts down the minutes. But if you're aching for a Power Yoga session and you've only got minutes to spare, you'll probably appreciate the Quick Fix approach. In the first segment, you flow through a fast-paced Vinyasa series; the second workout involves standing and balance poses; the third segment takes you to the floor for poses that strengthen the core muscles. In spite of their brevity, these workouts are challenging. A modified version is shown for those who, for example, can't do multiple sets of straight-legged Chaturangas. Since some of the poses really are advanced, you'll probably be using a modified version at least once or twice unless you've been practicing Yoga for quite a long time. Instructor Joy Kilpatrick is an excellent instructor. Her cues are straightforward, and she keeps things simple. The focus is on the poses — you won't find any mention of Yoga's spiritual side here (there wouldn't be time for that anyway). This program has done the impossible — presented excellent Power Yoga workouts that run just 10-minutes. Call it a challenging Yoga workout for the time challenged.
