(Natural Journeys)
2003
What is it?
A half-hour Vinyasa Flow Yoga routine featuring actress/ Yoga instructor Rainbeau Mars.
Who is it for?
Advanced beginners and up — it's a nice introduction to flow-type Yoga, if you're already familiar with the Asanas. Yet it's not so easy that it would bore those already familiar with Vinyasa or Flow Yoga.
What to expect:
Rainbeau Mars promises that this Yoga routine will make you sweat, and it does. But unlike some other Flow-style Yoga videos, this one doesn't do it by rushing you through the postures. Instead, Mars gives you time in each pose so that your body is able to stretch, feel and gain strength. The session starts off with variations on Sun Salutation, then moves to the standing postures. Mars offers some interesting, hip-opening variations on Downward Facing Dog and Standing Forward Bend, along with practicing some standing twists before returning to the mat for some final stretches and Corpse Pose. This Flow session offers something a little different from many other programs, and Mars' approach is more spiritually oriented — you're definitely invited to stretch your inner as well as your outer self. For its short length (just a couple minutes over half an hour), this is a nice workout for your body, mind and spirit.
