Total Yoga: The Flow Series — Earth(Razor Digital Ent.) 2001-2004 What is it? The simplest Yoga routine of the three-part Flow Series created by noted Yoga instructors Tracey Rich and Ganga White. Who is it for? Both Yoga beginners and those who have a bit more experience. One of the few easier routines that will even appeal to those who already know their way around a Yoga mat.
What to expect: Tracey Rich and Ganga White of the White Lotus Foundation are two of the best Yoga instructors around, and they lend their expertise to this basic, 45-minute routine. Rich and White specialize in a flow style of yoga that focuses a lot on Sun Salutations and keeps you moving through much of the session. Earth is made up of easier poses, with lots of modifications for those who are less flexible. Before getting into the poses, you learn the intricacies of Ujjayi breathing — an important aspect of practicing the Asanas that is often neglected by others. Along with the Sun Salutations and standing poses, Rich and White also scoot you into Viparita Karani (Legs-Up-the-Wall Pose), so make sure you have a bare wall handy (this is an especially delicious Yoga pose, so don't skip it!). The session ends with a good, long Relaxation Pose which, along with the Asanas before it, leaves you feeling refreshed and grounded. While Rich and White are masterful teachers, you won't find any chit-chat or jokes in their videos. They get right down to business and let the instruction speak for itself — which, really, is what a Yoga session should be about. This video is all meat and no fluff — very nourishing for those just starting a Yoga program. Other Yoga DVDs you may like:
