(Razor Digital Ent.)
2001-2004
What is it?
An hour-long vinyasa flow Yoga session with Tracey Rich and Ganga White of the White Lotus Foundation.
Who is it for?
Intermediate to advanced Yoga practitioners. It moves too quickly and is too challenging for beginners.
What to expect:
This video is the most intense and aerobic of The Flow Series — something that might be guessed from its title, Fire. After making sure you thoroughly understand ujjaiyai breathing, the practice starts off with three repetitions of three Sun Salutation variations, and then goes on to the standing poses. Since you keep moving throughout the session you work up quite a bit of heat, and while this style of Vinyasa yoga is more aerobic than strength building, most women will find that all those Chaturangas will help build upper body power. The floor postures include both Headstand and Shoulderstand (although you can stay in Dolphin if you haven't yet graduated to a full Headstand), so this tape is definitely geared towards the more experienced Yoga practitioner. The video is beautifully shot on a simple set, and instructors Tracey Rich and Ganga White have impeccable form. Rich's narration (with occasional remarks from White) is clear, concise and easy to follow. If you're looking for a more advanced Yoga program, this is an excellent addition to your library. One note: this is actually a reshot, updated version of 1995's Aerobic Yoga, so keep that in mind if you already have the earlier video.
