Total Yoga(Razor Digital Ent.) 2000-2004 What is it? Over an hour's worth of flowing Yoga postures. While they're all standard, well-known moves, this routine focuses on some of the more difficult ones. Who is it for? Yoga enthusiasts who are advanced beginners and up.
What to expect: Although this DVD claims to be "the complete Yoga workout video for everyone," that's only half true — it is definitely a complete Yoga workout, but it's not really for someone who is new to Yoga. Those who already have had some experience (preferably with an in-person teacher) will love this workout — its series of poses (many of them various Sun Salutations) will keep advanced beginners challenged and intermediate practitioners interested for quite a long time. The tape opens up with an Ujjayi breathing practice before going onto the asanas. Tracy Rich briefly explains each move without going into a lot of detail (which is one of the reasons why this isn't for total beginners — you already should be familiar with form). She illustrates the basic postures, while Ganga White (her husband and partner in the White Lotus Foundation) occasionally shows up to offer more advanced versions of some of them. This is truly a no-nonsense video — no tropical backgrounds, no new age philosphizing, and no supermodel helpers (although Rich is certainly pleasant to look at). It's just a great Yoga session — who needs anything more? Other Yoga DVDs you may like:
