Molly Fox's Yoga Stretches and Relaxes(PPI/Current) 2001 What is it? A 36-minute Yoga routine from Yoga instructor Molly Fox. Who is it for? Advanced beginners to intermediates — many people will find several poses challenging.
What to expect: Although her simple backdrop is rather new-agey in feel, Molly Fox's focus on Yoga is practical, and gently geared towards the physical. As its title implies, this Yoga routine concentrates on stretching and relaxing the body. Fox starts off with a brief Sun Salutation segment — just enough to warm the muscles — and then gets down to business with the stretches. But even though the pace slows down, it does not get easier — Fox offers up poses that challenge your balance and open your hips and chest. You stay in the poses long enough for your body to explore them, and while there are no modifications offered, Fox encourages you to honor your boundaries while at the same time inviting you to learn from your edge. Another good point: she also frequently reminds you to breathe. This is definitely a routine for those who know their way around a sticky mat. Fox doesn't often give you the names of the poses, Sanskrit or otherwise and her direction is sometimes a bit spare. This is a good program for those who have become bored with easier Yoga programs and are looking for something a bit more demanding. Other Yoga DVDs you may like:
