(Koch Vison)
2000
What is it?
Two 20-minute Yoga routines, culled from Yoga Zone's now-defunct television show.
Who is it for?
Yoga beginners, or those who want a pleasant stretch session to start the day or finish off a workout.
What to expect:
These two simple, light-hearted Yoga routines were filmed in Jamaica, where Yoga Zone was producing its TV show. Along with the attractive scenery, as instructors we have two senior Yoga Zone staff members, Charles Matkin and his wife, Lisa Bennett-Matkin (they have since gone on to teach independently). Lisa teaches the first segment and Charles the second. There is nothing too challenging here — the first segment has a nice focus on breathing and chest openers while the second works a bit more with hip openers. There is a flaw in the second segment — Charles leads you through a lunge segment on one leg and you never get to do the other leg (this can only be attributed to bad editing — this was a poor place to cut if the segment was running over its allotted TV time). Other than that, either segment makes a nice stretch routine (especially if you go back and do the lunge on the other leg), and if both segments are done together, they make up an easy Yoga session. This video is good for beginners who are not in the mood for anything too challenging, but who still want to have some quality Yoga.
